Did you know Celoxdesign has many advertising possibilities, an overview of the advertising spots can be found on the Advertise page. You can get a discount on the spot of your choice if you buy a spot for a longer period of time.
Intro:
In this Adobe photoshop turorial I will be showing you on how to make a star with the penciltool and motionblur
Step 1:
Create your preffered text, if you don't know how to make a nice looking 3d text follow this tutorial
, obviosly stars can be used for alot of different things then a 3D text, but I'll show the way I used in my earlier tutorial the 3D Text tutorial.
You can call this a part 3 of the 3d text turorial, or you can say I had to put it all in the 3D text tutorial. I wanted it to be seperate tutorial so I'll be able to point to this tutorial when I ever use a shine in my later tutorials.
I used the 3D text with the shine some people have created earlier.
Step 2:
Create a new layer (Ctrl+Shift+N) and name this layer star, set the foreground to white (Hit D to reset colors to default, and X to switch them, making white the foreground color).
Then take the penciltool
and make a small line with it.

Then go to Filter > Blur > Motion blur, set the angel to 0 degrees so it blurs out the line with the right angle of the line. Set Distance to 30 pixels and hit OK.
Step 3:
Duplicate the Star layer (Right click the Star layer in the layers window and press Duplicate layer).
Now we have to flip it so that it actually makes a star which is 90 degrees. Go to Edit > Transform > Rotate 90 degrees CW/CCW.

Merging the layers together makes it alot easier to move the star around and rotate it to your likings. Select "Star copy" and hit the combo Ctrl+E.

And there we have it our little star! You can mod this star though but I like to keep things simple and clean.
I moved my star to the top left of the C and rotated it so it's a bit crooked, you can rotate by pressing Ctrl+T then go to a corner with your mouse until you cursor becomes a curved arrow then rotate!
You can also lower the opacity a bit but I like it on 100% on this text.
