Step 5:
Duplicate the Scuff base layer by right-clicking it in the layers palette and hitting Duplicate layer. Move the copied layer under the scuff base layer. Then go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian blur, and use a setting of 15.9. Change the layer blend mode to color, and the opacity to 31%.
Step 6:
Copy the scuff base layer, Name this layer High pass. Make sure the copied layer is selected then go to Filter > Other > High pass, and use a value of 1.7 pixels. Change the layer blend mode to Color burn.
Step 7:
Now we're adding some blood spatters, you can make these yourself or use you could download some blood brushes, I got mine from Deviantart the brush-set is called Shad0ws Blood Brush Set. When you downloaded the brush-set get your brush-tool and take the brush called Sampled brush #51
Select the shape layer (the plate layer) then start brushing on a new layer called Blood, just single clicks no stroke brushing. Give this layer a red color with Hue/saturation. Set the Layer blend mode to Hard light.
Step 8:
Duplicate the blood layer, go to hue/saturation and change the color to black. It ain't that hard, just slide the sliders all the way to the left and your done. Now what we want to do with this layer is move it slightly to below the red blood layer so we get a nice shadow. Change the layer blend mode to Hard mix. Delete any parts outside the metal plate. You can do this by selecting the plate layer and hitting Ctrl+Shift+I then hitting delete and voila!
Step 9:
Now we basically have to do over step 8 but with a white color and move it above the red layer. Change the layer blend mode to hard mix and opacity to 30%. When your done you should have something like this.
