Intro:
In this adobe photoshop tutorials you'll learn on how to make a nice glass text effect with simply using some blending options and brushing.
Download the image of the IPOD I'm using here.
Step 1:
Make new file I used dimensions 500x200px, This effect HAS to be on a big text, so you have to transform it a bit using free transform (Ctrl+T).
Type your preferred text, I used font Corporate HQ, and resized it vertically.

Doesn't matter which color you have now cause will we'll change that later in this tutorial.
Step 2:
Add these blending options, (Right click text layer > blending options).
I cut the images otherwise it eats up more space on the server, which you don't need to add these blending options.

DON'T hit ok yet!
The reason I skipped the outer glow out of the logical order, because I want to show you how much of a difference it makes! So now change the outer glow.

Step 3:
Make a new layer (Ctrl+shift+N), name this layer Shiny, and set the mode to "Overlay" and opacity to 62% in the layers window.
Get the brush tool
select a soft brush with 184 px or something like that. Select white as foreground (D to reset colors, X to switch colors).
Click ONCE in the left bottom corner, and do the rest to your likings
, I did almost the whole bottom and a bit of the E as you can see.
You can allways go back with Alt+Ctrl+z.
Me end result:
