Intro:

Create this awesome 3D text with a dissolve background to really kick this text effect into high gear. The font we're going to use for this photoshop tutorial is a default Adobe photoshop font (Hobo STD), if your photoshop version doesn't have the Hobo STD font you can probably download it from somewhere, if you need help with that just ask or use another good font. Below is what we're going to be making with this text effect tutorial:

Step 1:

Start by typing your preferred text with the text tool, and select the proper font (Hobo STD or another). Make your text black, and give your background this color: #dcdcdc

Step 2:

Since I'm a perspective lover when it comes to text effects we're going to use it again in this tutorial. But before we can give the text a perspective we have to rasterize it, I always like to have a backup of my default text (without the perspective). So first off duplicate the text layer in your layers pallette, by right-clicking the layer and choosing Duplicate layer. Hide the original layer by clicking its eye in front of the layer. Then Right-click the copied layer and choose Rasterize Type, now the layer is ready for the perspective to be added.
Go to Edit > Transform > Perspective, and drag the bottom left or right corner to the outside.

Step 3:

Now we're going to make the base for the 3D effect, this 3D effect is a very simple 3D effect with just black layers, but for this effect it'll do nicely, so let's get rocking! Make sure you have the perspective layer selected (the layer we just worked on). Now hold the ALT key and push the Up-arrow 8 times. Everytime you punch the up-arrow key with holding ALT you copy the previous layer and it moves that copied layer 1 pixel upwards, you can also use the other arrow keys to go in a different direction, but for this tutorial use the up-arrow.

Step 4:

The next thing we gotta do is add some blending options to the top layer, so right click the top layer in your layers pallette (Copy 8 or 9) and choose blending options, then just click the contour under the Bevel and Emboss and leave the default settings. Now add the following blending options:
