As you may have noticed I've finally made a custom news system for Celoxdesign, I know many people were bugged out with Cutenews (like myself). This news system will change over the coming weeks because I'm currently figuring out how Ajax works and want that implemented as soon as possible through out the whole site. Smilies will also be available soon in all user input systems, like the shoutbox and news (comments). Hope you enjoy the new news system so far but it will be so much more improved as I'm learning new stuff in PHP and Ajax every day.

6 new Photoshop tutorials are added to the database! To be perfectly honest I forgot to say about it
. The first tutorial is Modding faces with textures, this tutorial will show you how to mod a woman's face into an alien looking face using textures, really a must see Photoshop tutorial!
Some people were asking me about a full website template tutorial so I've made one of a gaming template, though this design can be used for basically any other niche too. When I made this tutorial I've received a lot of good comments but people wanted to know how to slice and code this template. So I've made a tutorial on how to slice and code the full template, with valid CSS and xHTML.
The next 3 photoshop tutorials aren't written by me, no these tutorials are of the artist Daniel Alekow (visit Daniel's portfolio). Don't worry, I have permission of Daniel to re-publish his photoshop tutorials. All 3 tutorials are painting tutorials, the first is about on how to paint his earlier made painting "Melodie of a bright day". while the other is on how to paint a wooden plank in photoshop. The last tutorial of Daniel's is about painting an eye sketch, this eye is real evil looking!
Daniel has some other painting tutorials so expect some more painting tutorials to be posted soon!
Lately I've been having a lot of traffic from search engines and tutorial indexes. I had pretty large images in my free photoshop tutorials, large in size and dimensions. So to cut back on the bandwidth-usage a bit I downsized the images to a more bandwidth friendly size. And lowered the quality of the images too, not to much though just enough to free up more kbs on the images and with not losing to much quality on the images. It should be A LOT more pleasant for the modem users out there, of-course for any other user it would be a great improvement in speed.
A few days ago an IE (Internet Explorer) 6 user reported to me that since a few days he was getting some annoying Ilead pop-up. I noticed I added an additional stats tracking script of webstats4u.com to the site at that time. Did some searching if Webstats4u was the problem, I guess it was the first result on Google I clicked which gave me the confirmation that Webstats4u was sending this pop-up though there stats tracking script.
So if your using Websats4u's stats tracker and have an annoying Ilead pop-up showing up on your site but you can't quite place your finger on it where it comes from, delete your Webstats4u script and you have a nice pop-up free website again!
I've started learning PHP a few days ago and have a lot of features I'd like to add to CD in the future. Won't be going in detail about this subject, just stay tuned! There are already some changes live like the new URI rewriting for the tutorials, and the latest forum news feature. Expect more features soonish!
The first signature of the week (SOTW) competition is starting on the forum, there are already 5 entries but we we need some more. Below are the separate threads, read the rules properly and only enter your signature in the entry thread!

Like some of you know Mickm has his new v9.0 online and of course it looks amazing, just like all Mickm's designs. Mickm has a lot of history of people ripping his site and I'm trying to help him annoy the hell out of this so called ripper! This ripper like many others ripped his v8 design, which I personally like a lot better then v9.
Mickm Wrote:
"This time the Ripper (http://www.sinaberang.com) not only ripped my old layout, he also stole drawings. Feel free to email him also... his address is given on his website: sinaberang@hotmail.com. Drop a line, tell him how you feel about him stealing my stuff Nuhu.
Anyhow, I emailed him and his host and see if they respond. If they don't I will let my lawyer undertake some action."
I won't bother giving the ripper an anchor link just because it'll boost his SE (Search engine) ranking, and will probably hurt mine. If people want to see the ripped site just copy the link from the Mickm quoted part.
As for my every day visitors (or close to) you can see I've changed the look. The main reason for this look change is because I had a major bug in the last design in Internet explorer 6. IE6 rendered the content 1 or more pixels to wide so it pushed the right menu under the content. I was thinking of a way to fix this and came to the conclusion that I could fix it easily with a smaller content div with a margin-left value and setting the right content box on float:right. Of course before I tried this I knew it was gonna work, don't want to sound cocky but it was the most effective way to solve this problem, with no CSS hacks what so ever so the code remains light-weight. Now the design renders like it supposed in all browsers, at least in browsers that I can test at home
.
I've had critiques on my latest design, mostly because of the really dark colors. Well.. I have to say I love black but now that I have something fresh I feel like when I change a design it has to look totally different, but in a somewhat same setup so you (the visitors) and me don't have to get used to the whole new setup. Like Microsoft does with Internet explorer and Windows! They sure know how to bug their users with that stuff.
The design is basically the same setup as I had before, for the reason I just told you (not bugging my users), and because this setup just works great for me advertising-wise.
I changed some PHP in the referrals script, you can now hover over the top 5 referrals and see the hits, it's much cleaner this way.
I had a random photoshop tutorial script but this script just didn't suit the whole look of the site so I changed this random photoshop tutorial script to a text link rotation. It just looks way more cleaner this way.
I hope you enjoy this new layout, I'm freaking sure I do!
I've been pretty busy with Celoxdesign.net lately. Made some important changes in the code of the shout-box. The most visible change I made to the shout-box is the URI support, before you could enter an URI but it wasn't displayed, this was because even when you entered an URI it echo-ed out the href="" part making a faulty link. I changed the code so when you enter nothing it won't make a faulty link.
As the title already gave away I made some new photoshop tutorials, below is the list of the 3 new tutorials (newest on top).
- Modding faces with textures
- Enhance photos with different techniques
- Cut out hair and body with extract filter and pen-tool
Good luck on making the tutorials! Post your results on the forum.
